Our Story

Established in 2021, Blue Hare sits high on our 19-acre croft at Lingerbay on the south-east coast of Harris. We carefully chose the location to ensure that the cabin blends seamlessly with its surroundings, providing privacy and stunning sea views.

Drawing on our experience of building and running a self-catering property, we briefed an architect on the type of dwelling we had in mind. Once the frame of the structure was completed, we continued the build ourselves.

For the interior we used materials and colours to harmonise with the landscape, seeking to include comfort, drama and most importantly a sense of fun. We landscaped the surroundings for Blue Hare to sit soundly and comfortably in splendid isolation, with an intimate and relaxing connection to the flora and fauna of Lingerbay.
