Isle of Harris holiday accommodation

About

Blue Hare offers dog friendly self catering accommodation in the Isle of Harris. The concept is a light touch building on our croft to accommodate one or two guests and a dog. Careful consideration has gone into the location allowing the Blue Hare to nestle into the surroundings and provide privacy for guests and great sea views. The location is ideal for cycling, walking or even the odd yachts person wanting a break from the boat. Cycle storage is available in a lockable bike shed, also useful for hanging up your wetsuits after a wild sea swim.
The Blue Hare has been finished to a high level of interior fitting and furnishing. The design suggests the concept of a bothy but with a modern twist. Large floor to ceiling windows enable you to enjoy the elevated position with panoramic views of the Minch and Isle of Skye. From this unique position various wild life can be observed including eagles, seals, whales, dolphins and otters. In the Lingerbay loch and bay various activities are possible: fishing, wild swimming, stand up paddle boarding and kayaking. Inside you will find a large open plan room with a fitted kitchen with a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, oven/micro and ceramic hob. There is a dining area and armchairs, a log burner and queen sized bed. A wall mounted tv, Roberts radio and unlimited wifi. The bathroom has been designed as a wet room with a rain shower, underfloor heating and plenty of hot water. Outside there is a large deck ideal for yoga or just laying back and looking at the stars in the night sky. A lower paved terrace is a perfect breakfast or bbq area.
Lingerbay is an ideal location to make a trip to St Kilda from Leverburgh (five miles away) or spend the day on a sandy beach just 15mins away in a car or 30mins on a bike.
The Blue Hare has a unique elevated position with a path leading up to it and a ramped entrance. Off street parking is at the bottom of the path. Help is available if you need assistance to carry things up the path.
