Blue Hare - Lingerbay

Our inspiration (2018) for the name Blue Hare, came from this book by writer, academic and activist Alistair McIntosh (pivotal in the rescue of Roinebhal - the huge hill behind us - which was planned to be Europe's biggest rock quarry). The battle for Roinebhal is documented in Soil and Soul (also by Alistair).

We were inspired by his 'sighting' of the revered and elusive lepus timidus in Lingerbay.

We registered the domain (bluehare.scot) in 2020 and completed the house build in 2021; the first Blue Hare to be seen in the Bays of Harris in many years!
